Based in North Carolina, Setzer Design Group, Inc. was initially formed in 1991 by Ward D. Setzer, former staff designer for the late J.B. Hargrave and later, manager of Hatteras Yachts Custom Division. Setzer formed the studio to branch out into the design of custom yachts and marine products of all types. New styles, innovations, unique products, ornate architectural details and blue water hulls became the on-going business of the studio.

In the past three years, Setzer Design has been the recipient of three Super Yacht Society awards for "Best Power" yacht designs along with being recognized by multiple publications for its award winning designs. Today the studio has begun to launch into new areas of production designs with leading builders while at the same time starting its own lines of products and vessels bearing the Setzer name and yet continuing to maintain a line of larger custom designs to round out the creative spirit that stands for Setzer.
